So Take This Seriously

Week Eighteen | Fifty-Two 5.8.21

It can be easy to forget just how much y o u matter to the One who formed you and called you.

Some days feel underwhelming, as your God-given portion pulses painfully slow.

Other days, you’re fully dressed in overwhelm before your feet even touch the floor.

And every day, there are the taunting voices (often our own) waiting with their subtle whispers,

You don’t have ____.

You can’t ____.

You’re not ____.

You’ll never____.

And you find yourself flailing and fumbling, in need of a simple but serious reminder from the One who knows and understands you best.

Just like Soloman, the wise-but-inexperienced son of king David, chosen to be his father’s successor and the builder of the Temple - God’s resting place.

I’m not exactly sure what soundtrack was playing in Soloman’s heart during those enormous days, but his father knew he needed to hear the straight truth in order to take his next step.

“So take this seriously.

The Lord has chosen you ... Be strong, and do the work.

Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work … is finished correctly.” 1 Chronicles 28, NLT

Friend, I’m not exactly sure what voices are on repeat in your head, but if you’re human I’m assuming you may need to be reminded of the straight truth,

the freeing truth,

the loving truth,

and

~ to take seriously, without question and with a thousand percent certainty ~

The Lord has chosen you.

Every part of y o u.

Every single day, no matter the day.

So be strong, do the work.

God is with you.

He will not fail you.

He will not leave you.

He will finish His purpose in you.

Whether you’re underwhelmed or overwhelmed, He is waiting to be your most sought-after Voice. That we may preach to our own hearts first, then to others that,

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things [including me].” ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭29:11‬, brackets mine :)
