But God Has Been With Me

Week Two | Fifty-Two 1.15.21

There are times of betrayal.

There are times of confusion.

There are times of injustice.

And there comes a time when you’ve done all you can, and it’s time to just

move on

and press on

into the One who whispers,

There is a time for everything.

Like in the story of Jacob ~

a man who had plenty of failures.

A man who received mercy on a stairway to Heaven.

A man who decided to stay calm and carry on and faithfully serve his father-in-law for twenty long years.

A man who was repeatedly wronged, though he did everything right.

Genesis 31

“So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah into the field where his flock was and said to them, ‘I see that your father does not regard me with favor as he did before.

But the God of my father has been with me.

[And in a dream, He has said], Now arise, and go…’”

This was a man who could have chosen to live bitter.

But not this man. He chose to live better, because he wholly trusted God with the whole story.

Because he believed in the God who outlasts our last hurt.

Because he knew God was with him ~ watching and working in ways he could not and would not see unfold...

Until he took his next step of obedient faith.

{For the entire story of redeeming love, read Genesis 25-35}
