A short Prayer for the Supernatural

That thing, that relationship, that those hurtful words may feel twisted and irreparable. Your heart wrenched by the ripples of what can never be undone, unspoken, or understood.

And this is the precise place we must begin the slow and steady climb of courage higher, through the crooked turns and over the calloused notches so we can hold closest to what is good and lovely and true.

It’s wholly unnatural, but as one of my favorite pastors and authors says, “If you want God to do the super, you’ve got to do the natural.” -Mark Batterson

Even if it’s just for my own heart, for the miracle of Grace in me.

So we lace up our climbing shoes and begin the scale towards faith, hope, and love…no matter how impossible it may seem.

And we pray,

“Grant us courage to shrink neither from the aches nor from the joys that love brings, for each, willingly received, will accomplish the good works you have appointed them to do. Therefore we praise you even for our sadness knowing that the sorrows we steward in this life will in time be redeemed.” -Every Moment Holy

Brutiful Amen.
